This program is geared toward all teachers who cover the GDR in the classroom and anyone interested in its fascinating history. Berlin was the center of the Cold War in Europe, making it the perfect place to learn about the German Democratic Republic. The program emphasizes everyday life in East Berlin as well as Berlin's role in the Cold War. Through visits to historical locations and discussions with experts, participants gain a understanding of Berlin’s past.
